Qualcomm-Apple: neither Friend nor Frand

The battle between Apple and Qualcomm continues to escalate, as Apple disputes the patent royalties demanded by Qualcomm and Qualcomm threatens to ban iPhones assembled in China from entering the United States (see Les Échos, 5 May 2017).

Apple has brought numerous legal actions against Qualcomm, notably in the United States, where it is seeking $1 billion, but also in China, where it is seeking $145 million, and in the UK.
