Sorgem Evaluation assisted the Veolia Group in the valuation of certain intangible assets as part of the merger between Veolia and Suez

Following the announcement on 14 May 2021 of a merger agreement between Veolia and Suez, the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF) published on Monday 10 January 2022 the final result of the takeover bid launched by Veolia for the shares of Suez, following which Veolia holds 86.22 per cent of Suez’s share capital and voting rights. Veolia subsequently announced that, on 31 January 2022, it had completed the sale to the investor consortium comprising Meridiam, GIP, the Caisse des Dépôts and CNP Assurances of the business units constituting the ‘new Suez’. Sorgem Evaluation supported the Veolia Group throughout this process, with a view to valuing the main intangible assets transferred as part of this transaction.

We applied several methods (royalties, replacement costs) depending on their relevance to each of the assets analysed.
