What would we say to a friend who had just come out of an eight-month coma? In summary: there has been a pandemic of extraordinary scale which is not yet over, but most equity indices are currently not significantly below their levels at the end of December 2019, or are even above them. If we look more closely, we can see that the rebound in 2020 was ten times faster than during previous market crashes!
